SADNESS: Tipperary music world in shock after sudden passing of David "Sully" O'Sullivan

The late David "Sully" O'Sullivan

The music world in Tipperary, and  especially Thurles, has been plunged into sadness with the announcement that David "Sully" O'Sullivan of Thurles has passed away suddenly.

David acted as MC for the Liberty Music Festival last year and in a post on its Facebook page, the festival organisers said: "On behalf of everyone here at the Liberty Music Festival we would like to pass on our condolences to the family of the late and great David "Sully" O'Sullivan on his shock passing. David acted as our MC during our festival last year and had agreed to do so again this year. A pure gentleman. Thurles has lost a Music legend. RIP".

Tributes have been left on the festival's Facebook page by many who loved and admired David.

Laura Witherow posted that David will be "missed by the whole town", while Tommy Brophy wrote: "One of the soundest most likeable men you could meet. You’ll be missed."
