There was a bumper entry into Larkspur Tennis Club’s 12th Senior Open Week. With over 431 entries from 51 clubs, this was the clubs largest Open Week to date.

There was entries from Dublin to Tralee and right across Munster and Tipperary. The Open Week had entries across all grades, from grade 1 men’s, ladies and mixed to grade 7 ladies doubles and every grade in between.

The tournament kicked off on Thursday 18th May as the cream rose to the top, the finale arrived with a wonderful display of tennis at finals day on Saturday 27th May.

Like any major event, the success of the Open Week was down to the commitment and dedication tournament directors, Aidan O’ Gorman, Siobhan Murphy, Benny Dudley, Michelle O’ Meara and Darren Ryan.

The club expressed their sincerest thanks to the directors for the excellent organisation and scheduling of the week, with such a large entry it was no easy task.

The club would also like to express our sincerest thanks to all our sponsors who were once again very generous in their support to the club. Over the course of the week there was constant refreshments and food available, again we thank our social committee, BBQ volunteers and the wider club membership for their time and support throughout the week.

The sister clubs locally, in Kilfeacle and New Inn, gave Larkspur their use of their courts to assist in running off games every night which was a wonderful gesture and it was great to see such cooperation amongst local clubs.

Larkspur Tennis Club continues to grow and prosper and is always open to welcoming new members of all grades, more information can be found on  https://larkspurpark.com/
