Clonmel boxer Shauna O’Keeffe has continued her tremendous run of form by winning the Haringey Box Cup gold medal at the Alexandra Palace in London.
This was the ‘Carrigeen Queen’s’ third gold medal won at Senior Elite level this year.
At the beginning of 2023 she won the Irish Championship and last month won the top honours when representing Ireland at the prestigious Felix Stamm Multi Nations senior elite boxing tournament in Pułtusk, Poland, striking gold in the Light Welterweight division, 63kgs.
Clonmel's Mayor Pat English accorded Shauna a reception at the Town Hall this week in honour of her great achievements.
Another Clonmel boxer, 18-year-old Raymond Joyce, was also among the medals at the Haringey Box Cup when he brought home a bronze.
The Haringey Box Cup is Europe’s largest amateur boxing event, which takes place over three consecutive days at Alexandra Palace each June.
Completing a great weekend for Clonmel Boxing Cub, Kaysie Joyce won her fourth Irish title at the National Stadium.
Clonmel Boxing Club coach Martin Fennessy has congratulated the boxers and fellow coaches Keith (Bobby) Galvin and Kenny Dillon for their role in the club’s success.
