The revival of the annual Ladies Social Night at Hillview Sports Club in Clonmel proved a resounding success
Hillview Pitch and Putt club in Clonmel recently re-introduced the club’s annual Ladies Social Night.
This event was first started in 1999 by Joe Hickey.
There was a fantastic turnout of ladies from Larkspur Park, Cunnigar and Hillview.
This event was open to players and non-players alike.
Despite the earlier inclement weather, 37 ladies played in the three-ball scramble, which took place over 18 holes.
Seven more ladies came on the night and joined in for the wine and food.
The scramble was won by Mary Moloney, Maeve O’Brien and Marie Forde with a gross score of six under.
The runners-up were Anne Fitzgerald, Ann Gaughran, Chris O’Connor and Alice Tobin with a gross score of five under.
In third place were Veronica Anglim, Anne Morrissey and Kathleen Campbell with a gross score of four under.
The fourth team were Grainne Shelly, Mary O’Neill and Olivera Welsh.
In the absence of the Lady Captain, Gent’s Captain John Fitzgerald and Treasurer Con Lucey served the ladies wine while the food was provided by Eileen Condon.
The course was in excellent condition, thanks to Richie Blanche.
The bar was staffed by club President Noel Byrne and Life Vice President Frankie Gubbins.
Thanks are extended to Anne Maria Quigley, who put in such an effort to get this night up and running.
It’s hoped that all the visitors enjoyed the night and thanks to everyone for your continued support.
