Katie Bergin acquits herself well at the annual Morton Games in Dublin

Another super weekend for Moyne Athletics Club sprinter Katie Bergin, who became the first athlete from the club to be invited to take part in Morton Games on Friday night last.

Katie was ranked eighth on the start line and running in lane 1, she ran an incredible first bend to overtake three athletes on her outside and finish in fifth position in a time of 24.49s running into a -2.7m/s wind.

On Sunday, Katie returned to the Morton Stadium for the AI Games and again produced two stunning performances in the 100m. Stubbornly stuck on 12.00s all the season, she finally broke and cleared that barrier ran 11.86s in Series 1 (+4.4m/s wind), and followed that up with 11.80s (+2.2m/S) in Series 2 in the afternoon, again the first athlete from Moyne athletic club to run under 12.0s for the 100m.

The next stop for Katie is the National Seniors in two weeks' time and then the League Final where Tipperary Womens Team is placed in the top three going into the final.
