Senior Hurling: Nenagh Éire Óg seniors will play JK Brackens in Round 2 of the Co Championship next weekend. This game will be played at 1.30pm on Saturday in Dolla.
Junior Hurling: Hard luck to our Junior As who lost out by three points to Toomevara in the final round of the Championship last Friday. The score was 2-21 to 1 -21 with Cian O’Farrell getting the Nenagh goal. This result means we finish fourth in the table and are now due to play Ballinahinch in the North semi final on Friday, August 18; fixture TBC.
U19 Hurling: Well done to our U19s who defeated Roscrea in Round 4 of the U19A championship last Wed evening on a scoreline of 1-19 to 1-12, our goal coming from Aodhán O’Connor. They now play Ballina in Round 5 this Wednesday at 7.30pm in Ballina. Already qualified for the semi-final, the result here will decide on the final placing.
Tipperary Draw: The 2023/24 Tipperary Clubs draw was launched recently and our promoters will be contacting all existing members in the coming weeks. If you would like to join this draw contact Catherine Kennedy at 086-1996643 or any club officer. You can also join online. The first draw will take place on Friday, August 25..
Lotto: Our lotto jackpot has now reached €8,100. Thank you for your continued support. A reminder that you can play the lotto each week at The Hi-B, JKC, Centra, The 44 Bar, Cleary’s Daybreak & Andy’s. The lotto can also be played online through the club website and social media sites or contact any committee member.
Summer Camp: The 2023 Nenagh Éire Óg Summer Camp will run from August 15 to 17, 10am to 1pm, €40 per child. Contact Niall on 087-4086439 to enroll.
Under 5: Training for under 5 boys is on Saturdays at 10am. Contact John on 087-1365053 to join up.
Under 7: Training continues at 10 am on Saturday mornings at the club grounds. Midweek training is on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm. Go Games commence this week with times and venues to issue during the week via group text.
All new boys are very welcome to come along and give it a try; contact Erica on 086-8774496.
Under 9: Our under 9 boys took part in the county hurling blitz last week and did very well. Training continues Tuesdays 6pm to 7.15pm and Saturdays 10am to 1.15am. We love to see new faces coming along, boys born in 2014/15 are very welcome to come and give it a try; contact Alan on 087-7518789.
Under 11: The under 11 hurlers travelled to Borris-Ileigh on Saturday morning for their next round of fixtures. A wet and windy evening ensured that both teams had to dig in really hard, which they duly did. Good effort and performances from all the boys so well done to all. Thanks to all parents for making the trip over to Borris with the boys. Next up is a home game against Burgess next weekend. All of the boys are encouraged to keep practising when possible. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday for hurling unless we have a match. All new boys are very welcome to come along and give it a try; contact Cathal on 086-0806460.
Under 13: Our under 13 boys played Roscrea in the A & D league this week, losing the A and winning the D game. The C team lost out to Borrisokane. This week the three teams played Newport on Tuesday evening in the last round of the league. The A team will play Newport again in the play off round on Friday evening in Newport. Training this week is Wednesday at 7pm and Sunday at 11am unless we have a match. New players are always welcome; contact Niall on 087-408 6439.
Under 15: Our Under 15 boys will play Kiladangan on Thursday at 6.45pm in Nenagh. Training this week is Monday at 6.30pm and Saturday tbc.
Under 17: The next match for the U17s is against Silvermines on Monday, August 14, in Nenagh.
