Clonmel boxer Kaysie Joyce is celebrating after she won a bronze medal at the European Schools Championships in Maribor, Slovenia.
Representing Ireland for the first time, the four-times Irish champion fought three bouts against the champions of Italy, Turkey and Poland, which is regarded as invaluable experience.
In a Facebook post, Clonmel Boxing Club coach Martin Fennessy stated that the club is “very proud of Kaysie’s achievements inside the ring and how she carries herself outside the ring.
“The Presentation School student from Baron Park is a credit to her family, who support her in every way, bringing her to training and all that goes with supporting an international athlete”.
She is the latest boxer to roll off the conveyor belt of talent at Clonmel Boxing Club, which is one of the most successful clubs in the country.
Kaysie is the daughter of Sarah Jane and Darren Joyce and is wished all the best for her future career.
