Lovely hurling - Represented the parish with pride in Tipperary's Theo English Tournament

Theo English Hurling Tournament
Ballylooby/Castlegrace GAA Club had the honour of hosting the Theo English Hurling Tournament this year with clubs attending on Saturday last, September 9. We had two teams from Mullinahone Ballybacon and St. Mary's, joined by Cahir and our own U11’s.
Despite the very warm conditions, there was some excellent hurling skills on display from all teams.
Thank you to the teams for coming and the following for making the day so enjoyable:
- Parents for helping with the catering and running the event
- DJ Willie for creating a fun filled atmosphere with some great tunes
- Community Council for the use of their Marquee
- The Young Whistlers
Well done to the players and coaches Eamonn, Paddy and Paul.

Dates for your diary. Children’s Halloween Party Monday, October 30.
Christmas Party Sunday, December 3.
Market and festive tractor run Sunday, December 10.

A New Book
A book is currently being written about an IRA map from the Tan war Civil war period and it will involve the area between Clogheen, Ardfinnan, Ballylooby, Graigue Duhill and all countryside into Cahir. It will also focus on houses marked in Knockgraffan, Graigue (Clerihan) Rosegreen area.
Anyone with pictures or information please contact Tom on 087 2919222. We are also looking for info on John O’Mahoney of Castlegrace an IRA member who died in 1923.
John’s anniversary was in June but his story has only recently being uncovered.

Coffee Morning and Raffle
South Tipp Hospice will hold a coffee morning and raffle at the Galtee Inn, The Square, Cahir on Thursday September 21 from 10am to 12. Your support for this worthy cause will be greatly appreciated

Recent Outdoor Cemetery Masses
The recent cemetery masses at both Ballylooby & Duhill were very well attended.

Our thanks to Fr John and all involved in getting prepared for these special Masses in remembrance of all our deceased relatives and friends.
Next year Cemetery Masses are planned for the first and second Sunday of September.
