The tension will be high for the senior hurling relegation semi finals
There are two compelling Tipperary Senior Hurling Relegation Semi-Finals taking place next weekend. All four teams had Dan Breen cup ambitions at the start of the year but the quick fire nature of the games meant that all four now find themselves in relegation and shockingly one of the four will go down to Prem-Intermediate at the end of the year.
Clonoulty, the west senior hurling champions, take on JK Brackens on Saturday next in the Ragg. Clonoulty hurled well at times but found themselves in the group of death against Kiladangan, Borris Ileigh and Thurles Sarsfields and a couple of close games went against them.
Brackens didn't get going in their first two games but began to motor against Drom Inch when Paddy Cadell returned from a long term knee injury. This game is going to be a cracking hurling match.
Last year's Dan Breen cup winners find themselves in relegation this year after a couple of players emigrated and a couple of key players got injured. They take on an Upperchurch side that misfired against Holycross and Loughmore this season.
This is a repeat of last year's county semi final which Kilruane MacDonagh's won before they won the county final. This time out the teams meet in Dolla next Sunday with the stakes almost as high as they were in last year's game.
The fixtures are as follows:
Saturday - September 30th - at 3.30pm in The Ragg: Clonoulty/Rossmore v JK Brackens
Sunday - October 1st - at 1.00pm in Dolla: Kilruane MacDonaghs v Upperchurch/Drombane
