There was great sadness in a Toomevara in north Tipperary last week after one of its most well-known and loved publicans, John Cromer passed away after a long-term battle with cancer.
Known as the owner of the popular pub and restaurant, The Tipperary Inn, on the main street of the village, Cromer was a well-liked member of the community and was a big supporter of the local GAA club.
Toomevara GAA gave their condolences to the Cromer family this week, saying, "We wish to offer our sincere sympathies to the family of John Cromer following his sad passing. John and his family supported our GAA club in every sense.
"His hospitality to all club officers and members knew no bounds. He was always most welcoming to successful Toome teams when they arrived at the Tipp Inn for well-deserved refreshments."
