Tipperary woman pins winning double to help Ireland to World Darts Championship

World Ladies Darts Champions
Congratulations to local girl Aoife McCormack and Team Ireland on their great success. The Republic of Ireland is the 2023 WDF World Cup Women’s Team champions. This is a first in the history of Irish darts.

Ahead for much of their game with Wales, victory for the Irish was sealed by Aoife McCormack pinning double one. They become the third different nation to win the Women's Team event after previous victories for England and the Netherlands.
The ladies team also took home the overall silver medal for finishing second in the league table out of over 50 teams from all over the world.

Aoife lives in Ballingarry village and works in the local Daybreak shop owned by Martin and Marie Casey. This is a massive achievement for this young lady, who travelled over to England every other week playing in the Ladies World series of darts. A big congrats to you Aoife – we are all so proud of you.
