Great performances at Tipperary  County Even Age Juvenile Cross Country Championships

Dundrum AC's U10 Boys at the County Even Age Cross Country Championships in Galbally.

COUNTY EVEN AGE JUVENILE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 
The County Even Age Juvenile Cross Country Championships was held in Galbally on Sunday, October 1. It was a lovely day and the course was sticky but held up fairly well.

First race off was the Girls U10 with 4th Lucy Heffernan, 5th Aimee Ryan, 8th Shona Ryan and 18th Emma Kelly. These 4 won Silver in team event. Also running was 23rd Ciara Hayes, 25th Abbierose O'Dwyer and 34th Leah Shanahan.

In the Boys U10 we had 7th Alexey Nesteruk, 9th Harry Julian, 11th Harry Creedon and 21st Adam Breen.  These 4 won Silver in the team event. Also running was 27th Mikey Burke, 28th Harvey Keane, 37th Cathal Corley, 38th Jack Butler, 39th Eoghan O'Neill, 42nd Jack McGrath and 43rd Conor Tierney.

In the Girls U12 we had a great result with Lily Creedon winning the race from her teammates 2nd Ruth O'Neill, 3rd Ellen Maher and 6th Katelyn Shanahan. Great to get the 1, 2, 3 and these four won Gold in the team event. Also running was 9th Grace Butler, 18th Bella Curling, 21st Farran Ryan, 23rd Ella Gayson, 24th Isobel Hartnett, 33rd Aisling Kinane, 43rd Mary Kate English, 44th Aine O'Neill and 46th Maggie Mae Kiely.

In the Boys U12 we had our second county champion in Jesse Julian who had a great run to win. He was supported by 10th Aaron Kelly, 20th Micheal Ryan and 26th Thomas Tierney to win the Bronze in the team event. Also running was 30th Billy Guilfoyle.

In the Girls U14 Belle Kelly had a great run to with Bronze,  with 9th Elisse Kelly and 10th Molly Butler.  Taylor O'Toole who was struggling with injury was unable to finish. We wish her a speedy recovery.  In the Boys U14 Albert Maher continued his winning ways with a fine run to win Gold and led the team of 9th Rocco Julian, 14th Micheal Farrell and 20th Seamus English to win Gold in the team event.

In the Girls U16 we had 7th Ruby Maher and 8th Clodagh Kilmartin ran well over a tough 4k as did Donagh Guilfoyle who was 5th in the Boys U16. Niamh Buckley won Silver in the Girls U18.

Well done to all our athletes and it is on now to the County Uneven Age in Moyne next Sunday.

COUNTY NOVICE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 
The County Novice Cross Country Championships were held in Galbally on Sunday, October 1. We had 11 athletes competing.

First off was the womens race over 4km. Catherine Fogarty had a fine run to win Bronze in 17:52. She was followed by 9th Mairead Julian 20:16.  Unfortunately due to illness we weren't able to field a womens team on the day.

In the mens race we had 9 competing over 6km. Barry Hartnett had a fine run to win Bronze in 22:33.  A great performance on tired legs after running a fantastic marathon in Berlin the previous weekend. He was followed by 7th Darren Allison 25:12, 10th Philly O'Dwyer 25:36 and made his debut to cross country running, and 13th Colm Bradshaw 25:43. These 4 won Silver in the team event.

Also racing was 18th Gerry O'Neill 26:19, 19th Darren Gayson 26:20, 30th Jim Halley 27:42, 41st Shane White 29:27 and 45th Liam Butler 32:05.
