Under 15 McCarthy Cup
High School CBS 51 Villiers School 0
Clonmel High School’s Under 15 rugby team travelled to Villiers School in Limerick on Thursday to play their opening McCarthy Cup match of the season. The High School dominated most aspects of the game, leading 20 nil at half time with tries from Jerome Phelan, Conall Morrison, Mbekezeli Masuku and Conor Williams.
The High School used all nine subs in the second half and scored five more tries from Jerome Phelan, Mbekezeli Masuku, Sam Normile, Alex Pyke and Conor Williams. Conversions were kicked by Michael Maher (2) and Conor Williams.
Our forwards played very well with Sean Delahunty, Nathan Gucwa and Mbekezeli Masuku standing out, while Conor Williams gave a man of the match performance in the backs with Conall Morrison, Cody Lee and Olan Doocey also playing very well.
This was an impressive performance by the High School and it was great that all 24 boys on the panel played their part in the win.
Our next McCarthy Cup match is at home to Glenstal Abbey on this Wednesday October 4.
