Dundrum AC’s Dymphna Ryan, who was first Over 40 at the Open Autumn Cross Country in Abbotstown and qualified to represent Ireland at the Home Nations Cross Country Championship
The Autumn Open International Cross Country Festival was held on Sunday last at the Sport Ireland Campus in Abbotstown, Dublin.
The senior and masters athletes raced together over 6k, with four laps of 1,500 metres. The weather was ideal. It was a calm sunny day.
Dymphna Ryan competed in the Women's Masters Over 40 category. She placed third overall in the Masters race and won gold in the Over 40 category in 22:03, just one second behind second place overall.
The top three in each age category have automatic selection to represent Ireland in the Home Nations Cross Country with Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales, and which takes place in Glasgow on November 11.
This is Dymphna’s second year representing Ireland and the club congratulates her on such a huge achievement.
