Dundrum represented Tipperary well at Munster Cross Country events in Clare

Karen Coughlan had a great to run to place 23rd in 22:55 and was on the Tipperary county team that won bronze.

MUNSTER NOVICE CROSS COUNTRY
The Munster Novice Cross Country Championships were held in Cooraclare, county Clare on Sunday last. We had four athletes competing. In the women’s race over 5k we had one athlete in action.

Karen Coughlan had a great to run to place 23rd in 22:55 and was on the Tipperary county team that won bronze.
In the men’s race over 6k we had three competing, with Barry Hartnett continuing his great form to place 12th in 21:55. Also racing were 60th Jim Halley 26:28 and 67th Michael Moore 28:48. Barry and Jim were on the County team that placed fourth.

MUNSTER EVEN AGE CROSS COUNTRY
The Munster Even Age Cross Country Championships were held on Sunday last in Cooraclare, county Clare. We had 20 juvenile athletes taking part.
In the Girls U10 we had great performances from 31st Shona Ryan and 32nd Lucy Heffernan and both were on the Tipperary team that won the bronze. We also had 112th Leah Shanahan and 118th Carmel McHugh and our club team finished 14th.
In the Boys U10 we had 32nd Philip Croke and 61st Harry Creedon and both were on the county team that finished sixth. We had a great result in the Girls U12 with our team winning bronze. Ellen Maher led them home in 14th with 19th Ruth O’Neill, 36th Katelyn Shanahan, 53rd Grace Butler, 64th Lily Creedon, 69th Bella Curling, 96th Isobel Hartnett and 122nd Isla McHugh.
The first six have qualified to compete in the national U12 championships in Gowran in November.


Ellen, Ruth and Katelyn also won bronze with the county team. In the Girls U14 we had 46th Belle Kelly, who was closely followed by her sister 48th Elisse Kelly. Next, we had 52nd Taylor O’Toole and 86th Molly Butler. The club team was ninth.
Belle and Elisse were on the county team that was fourth. In the Boys U14 we had our best individual result when Albert Maher finished eighth, running out of age and he led the Tipperary team to the bronze.
In the Girls U16 Ruby Maher was 64th and scored on the Tipperary team that finished fourth.
Well done to all on some great displays on what was a good, tough course.

COUNTY JUVENILE B
The next event on the calendar is the County Juvenile B cross country at the Turnpike on November 5.
