PEAKE VILLA 2 VEE ROVERS 0
The home side started quickly in this tie, and were rewarded in the sixth minute when Adam Garrett played a good ball through to Liam McCormack, who made no mistake finding the corner of the net.
Despite this however, Vee Rovers played themselves back into the game, restricting their hosts to some long-range efforts for much of the rest of the half. They had two long range efforts themselves that went close, but in the end, there were no more goals and Villa went to half-time a goal to the good.
Villa had the better in the early stages of the second period, again once again the Cloghee defence stood up and made sure nothing got past. The home side made some changes early in the half and this wrested the momentum from Rovers, before the Thurles visitors finally doubled their advantage ten minutes from time when good work from Liam McCormack saw him cross a great ball to Luciano Carelli who fired home a beautiful volleyed effort.
The home keeper David Purcell was called into action in the six minutes from time, and pulled off a fine save to deny Vee Rovers and to keep a clean sheet, ensuring his side would run out the victors and collect full points on offer.
