Tipperary theatres to host classic play

Alan Bourke as The Shaughraun  And Tatters the dog

The Fionn MacCumhaill Players are on the road again with a Dion Bouchicault classic, The Shaughraun.

Set in 1866 this play is a light hearted comedy telling a story of young vagabond who roams the countryside playing his fiddle and telling tales as well as stealing the squires horse and coat to go hunting when he chooses.

Set in Sligo when men were sent to prison to Australia for just being Irish or stealing a fish or a grouse from the landlord, this is the 25th production by the player's and their 20th anniversary production with a huge cast.

Peasants, crooks, murderers, gentry a priest and even a few English soldiers make this a memorable evenings entertainment
