Croke Street residents visit Kinnanes of Upperchurch for a wonderful night of reminiscing

Croke Street Residents’ Association in Thurles were delighted to meet their wonderful hostess Niamh, centre, on their trip to Kinnane’s Pub in Upperchurch

The Croke Street Residents’ Association in Thurles had a wonderful outing for their residents and associates on Thursday evening, October 19 when they journeyed to Upperchurch village.

The group of residents and associates from Croke Street returned to Upperchurch to savour once again the ambience and wonderful hospitality at P Ó Cuinneáin’s pub which is a focal point in the village.

Kinnane’s Pub caters for large crowds, serves meals and the visitors from Thurles had a superb evening. They were treated to wonderful hospitality at Kinnane’s Pub just before the Christmas season gets underway in earnest.

They were greeted by Niamh and Siobhán Kinnane and had an evening to remember which was full of chat and reminiscing. Many of the group had travelled previously to the scenic village in the heartlands of Tipperary.

Kinnane’s is family owned and operated. Opened in 1927 by Paddy Kinnane, it is known world wide. The Croke Street Residents Committee wish to acknowledge the funding received from NTDC Kickham Street, Thurles, which made their excursion possible.

North Tipperary Development Company is a local development company responsible for the delivery of a range of rural enterprise, social inclusion, and community development initiatives across the northern half of the county.

Resident Associations are organisations formed by groups of local people from a specific community who come together to promote and enhance their local area and act as a voice for that community.

The importance of Resident Associations are manidfold to a community. Their endeavour is to bring communities together, provide support, and promote inclusive communities. The Croke Street Residents association is a particularily vibrant and strong association in the Thurles area.

There are other trips in the pipeline over the coming months as well.
