Disturbing figures reveal that Tipperary has the highest number of road deaths so far in 2023

Tipperary is currently ranked number one among the counties of All-Ireland in terms of road deaths in 2023 according to figures released by the Road Safety Authority (RSA) this week.

Recent deaths on Tipperary roads have been a regular and unwelcomed occurrence - in recent months in particular - and as of November 1st, the title of deadliest roads in Ireland sits with the Premier county with a total of 16 lives being lost on roads in the county so far this year.

The numbers show that Tipperary has had four more road fatalities than the next nearest counties in Galway and Mayo (12), while Dublin and Cork (11) are the only other counties in double figures for deaths in 2023.

In total, there have been 157 road deaths in Ireland this year, with some 21 of those occurring in October alone, and with winter coming into sharp focus in the coming weeks, that figure is expected to grow further. See the full graphic below.
