Mark Doyle Hurling Festival

Ballylooby Castlegrace GAA finally got to play the Mark Doyle Festival of Hurling on Sunday morning.

After many false dawns due to weather and other match fixtures conflicts, our u11 hurling team got to perform in front of a good crowd at the really well maintained facilities in Ballylooby.

Fr Sheehy’s, Cahir, Newcastle clubs made the short journey, and thanks to all of them for facilitating us as we tried to tie down dates.

The hurling was fast and furious and well officiated by our local referees Paddy Doyle and Brian O’Donnell. Thanks lads.
With the parents and club delegates working diligently on providing hot drinks and some tasty treats, all needs were catered for so big thanks to all who helped with this.

This day holds a special place in the club calendar as we remember Mark. The club would like to thank the Doyle family for supporting this special day.

The spirit of the GAA was evident throughout the day as people stepped in to help in any way possible and to the Ballylooby Community Council for use of Marquee - thank you.

Finally, to the players, what a bunch. Huge credit to them as they played with tremendous spirit and passion. All games were close and exciting.

That completes the u11 involvement for this year. Thanks again to parents for their unwavering support throughout the year.

A big thank you to the coaches Eamonn, Paddy and Paul.
