The club are delighted to announce that work has now completed on the new 50 metre by 34 metre all weather Solohead Astro Turf Facility.
An open night takes place on Friday the 24th of November from 7pm in Solohead GAA field and all are welcome to check out the new facility.
The committee are issuing an open invite for people to get along on Friday 24th and see the club under 7s and under 9s get to run out on the new turf and be the first to try out the facility.
Solohead will use the occasion to acknowledge the success of some of their underage players who won Divisional and inter county honours in 2023 as well.
Everyone is welcome to come and view this wonderful new regional facility. It will be a tremendous resource for all age groups in the local community and in particular it will allow training and games activity for under age players all year round.
A key aim of this development, following on from the opening of the very successful walkway, is to promote healthy lifestyles and advance greater sporting participation by women and persons with disabilities.
Details on booking the facility will be announced in coming weeks on the social media pages of Solohead GAA.
Solohead GAA say they are most grateful to Tipperary County Council for funding support via the CLAR Rural development initiative run by the Department of Rural and Community Development and to the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media for funding under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP).
The club representatives say that this development would not have been possible without the hard work of the Club Committee members, the funds raised by the weekly Ace of Hearts draw and the exceptional generosity of their sponsors.
The Club in particular would like to thank the businesses who have taken out sponsorship signs around the field area and they would also like to acknowledge the excellent work of contractor Liam Ryan from Ryan Cooper Fencing on the standard and quality of the work by his team in the construction of this development.
