Ballyneale National School student Molly Whelan was the overall winner of Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club’s Peace Poster Competition for 2023.
Molly was presented with her prize and a Peace Poster Certificate at a Lions Club awards ceremony in Carrick’s Nano Nagle Community Centre’s chapel on December 4.
“Dare to Dream” was the theme of the art competition and Molly’s poster was among 200 entries from 10 primary schools in Carrick-on-Suir and surrounding communities.
Prizes and certificates were also presented to winners for each of the other nine schools that participated in the competition.
Carrick Lions Club President Maura Barrett and Youth Ambassador Award Coordinator Shirley O’Shea congratulated all the pupils on their beautiful posters.
