Tipperary's tracks and trails lovers are invited to take part in annual hiking festival


The Glen of Aherlow Fáilte Society, in association with the Galtee Walking Club, embarks on its annual Glen of Aherlow Winter Walking Festival in Tipperary over the weekend of January 26 to Janaury 28.

Following the success of last year’s Winter Festival the expectation is for even more visitors to experience the Glen and the beautiful landscapes.

Enjoy winter walking with corrie lakes, open mountain, woodland trails and forest tracks led by experienced guides from the Galtee Walking Club. The Festival will host seven guided walks over three days:
Friday evening walk: 7.30pm from Aherlow House Hotel we will take a nice easy stroll, through the Nature Park and around Christ the King.

Saturday 27: At 9am “A” walkers can enjoy the magnificence of Galtymore in Winter; at 10am “B” Walkers head to lake Diheen and Cush Mountain(10am); “C” walkers will enjoy the beauty at the Millenium Stone from 11am.

On Sunday, walkers will get to experience Fearbreaga and Muskry Lakes (9am) or Lough Currra Loop (10am), or if you just want a stroll you can walk to Moore Abbey from Aherlow House Hotel (11am)
