Fr Sheehy's club crest
Much loved GAA stalwart Eamonn Keating passed away on Tuesday of this week at the age of 89. The Clogheen native played senior football for Tipperary from 1955-1961 and the Father Sheehys player lined out at midfield also when Burncourt/Clogheen won a county junior title in 1960.
Tipperary GAA led the way with condolences writing the following on social media: "Tipperary GAA is saddened to learn of the passing of former Tipperary player Eamonn Keating RIP. Eamonn played Senior Football for Tipperary between 1955 & 1961 and was an outstanding player for his club throughout his career, winning a County Junior final in 1960.
"Eamonn remained a staunch supporter of the GAA all his life and in particular Tipperary football. We extend our sympathies to his family & club at this sad time."
The funeral takes place this evening, and it is reposing at St Theresa’s Hospital Clogheen on Thursday from 5.30pm. Removal at 8pm to St Mary’s Church, Clogheen. Requiem Mass on Friday at 1pm in St Mary’s Church Clogheen. Burial afterwards in Shanrahan Cemetery.

He played football for Tipperary between 1951-1960. He played midfield for Burncourt/Clogheen when winning the 1960 County Junior football final.
