With a challenging environment facing the tourism and hospitality industries, Tipperary County Council, in conjunction with Tipperary Tourism, are hosting the ‘Elevate Tipperary Tourism Conference’ on Wednesday, February 21st at The Cashel Palace Hotel in County Tipperary, as a welcome support to the industry in the county. The event will offer a series of engaging discussions for the industry to gain in-depth insights and practical advice.

Featuring inspirational speakers from tourism businesses from both within the county and around the island, plus industry leaders including Chief Executive Designate of Tourism Ireland, Alice Mansergh and Fáilte Ireland’s Director of Regional Development, Paul Keeley, the audience will hear of opportunities which they can capitalise on to help steer their business or community organisation to success in 2024 and beyond.

The objective is to inspire and motivate, and with the contributors, including conference moderator and expert in Regenerative Tourism, Tina O’Dwyer from Tourism Space, this full-day programme commencing at 9.30 am in the stunning Cashel Palace Hotel surrounds will most definitely achieve this.

Anyone already operating in the tourism industry in Tipperary, large or small operator, sole trader or employer, or considering establishing a business in this sector in the county is welcome to attend, along with community organisation representatives with an interest in tourism.

Beyond the information and inspiration from the line-up of speakers, there are great opportunities to be gleaned from networking with others in the sector, and the sharing of knowledge and contacts. Some of the event’s expert speakers will include Niall Heenan, Owner of Fuchsia Lane Farm, Nuala Mulqueeney, Managing Director, of Aillwee Burren Experience, Olivia Duff of Boyne Valley Food Series, Dr Michael Martin, MD The Titanic Trail, and Karen Ronan from Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau. The executive panel discussion will also be hosted to focus on ‘Irish Tourism and Leading in a Changing Landscape’.

There will also be information stands provided by the two development companies - North Tipperary Development Company and South Tipperary Development Company, who will be available to share information surrounding the forthcoming LEADER funding. The Tipperary Local Enterprise Office will also be on hand to promote their supports, as will Ireland’s Association for Adventure Tourism who can answer queries on operating an activities business in Ireland.

Under its strategic vision, Tipperary County Council has its sights set on further developing the destination with an ambitious strategy, working through collaboration with the Tipperary tourism and hospitality industry.

Tipperary County Council’s Tourism Marketing and Development Officer, Caroline Rice, will officially reveal the Tipperary Tourism Marketing Plans for 2024 and explain how the audience can participate in the ‘Back the Brand' Programme, elevating the Tipperary brand and connecting and synergising Tipperary Tourism’s efforts.

Speaking of the upcoming conference Caroline says, “This is a not-to-be-missed event for anyone in Tipperary’s tourism and hospitality sector. Not only will we be sharing the tourism vision for Tipperary on the day but the host of discussions on key areas such as sustaining a tourism business in today’s climate, a regenerative approach to tourism and more will be on offer, with key insights from our industry experts.”

Tipperary Food Producers Network will also host a marketplace at the event, with the opportunity to sample some products and network with their members. Tours of the recently completed Bishop’s Walk and of the Cashel Palace Hotel itself will also be available to delegates.

Attendance at the event is free of charge, but advance registration is mandatory. Please contact caroline@tipperarycoco.ie to receive a booking link and to ensure your place at this County tourism conference. Please note that there is limited availability.
