Three students from Carrick-on-Suir's Scoil Mhuire Secondary School are hosting a charity bake sale tomorrow (Friday, February 2) to raise funds for their volunteering trip to Ghana this summer.
The bake sale, organised by 5th Greenhill students Maude Geoghegan, Camille Walsh and Eva McMahon, will take place at a premises next to the AIB bank on Carrick's Main Street from 9am onwards.
The proceeds of the sale will help fund the students’ two-week trip to Ghana next June where they will assist with a building project and teaching in a small village primary school in the Akuapem Hills close to the city of Accra. The trip is part of the Student Volunteer Projects Abroad initiative.
Anyone who is unable to make the bake sale can donate to the students fundraising campaign through the GoFundMe page: Carrick2Ghana2024.
