The road to Ennis - Nenagh CBS shined all the way to the Harty Cup final

The Nenagh CBS team that played Hamilton High School Bandon in round 2.

Nenagh CBS are on a roll this year. The buzz is about the journey and the journey is thrilling for the team, their classmates, their teachers, parents, cousins and friends. The team, under Donach O’Donnell, are unbeaten this season. They have spent countless hours on the training ground preparing towards next Saturday afternoon but in actual competition in this Harty cup season they have played just four games.

ROUND 1: Nenagh CBS 1-12 Charleville CBS 1-8
The season started on October 11th last when Nenagh CBS showed a touch of class late on to see off Charleville CBS in stormy conditions at Meelick. The star man was Danny Quinn who, in added time, was at the end of a move that was started when substitute Austin Duff took a dropping ball and offloaded to Eoin Doughan who unselfishly popped the ball to the man in the best position - Danny Quinn - and the Silvermines man finished to the back of the net.

ROUND 2: Nenagh CBS 4-27 V Hamilton High School Bandon 4-14
This was pure showtime on October 25th last. Highscoring and dramtic, it was a great game pitting A freezing day on an astro turf pitch many miles from home was no easy fixture. Banteer 4G GAA field was the stage for one of the great Harty cup goals this campaign as Nenagh took on the Seán Óg Ó hAilpín trained Hamilton Highschool Bandon.
The puck by Darragh McCarthy was sent right into the top corner. A video is available online at the Tipperary Live website, and it was not just one of the fantastic scores in this game, but one of the goals of the season. Darragh McCarthy hit 1-12 (0-8f) while Aodhain O'Connor struck 2-3 that day. Both were in top form, loving the fast ball on the Astro turf surface.

QUARTER FINAL: Nenagh CBS 2-16 Christian Brothers College Cork 0-6
Nenagh hit the motorway this time round qualifying for the last four of the TUS Dr. Harty Cup for the first time since 2017 following their 16-point demolition of Christian Brothers College Cork at a cold Bansha.

SEMI FINAL: Nenagh CBS 2-18 Charleville CBS 1-17
Drama galore here with Darragh McCarthy (0-13) starring. Nenagh CBS are in the final for the first time since 2012.
