The Friends of Tipperary Football a sub-committee of Tipperary County Board but has its own officer board and executive committee and they recently held their AGM in the Muintir na Tire Hall in Littleton. Following the AGM last week, Tipperary GAA reported back on events noting that: "On the night one of the main areas of concern that was referred to by a number of speakers was the around recruiting new committee members as the core group who do such fantastic work need more help.
"Clubs are asked to identify people from within their clubs who have an active interest in football and in particular people who may have a good knowledge and interest in the area of fundraising. Friends of Tipperary Football Chairman Michael Devlin also gave a commitment to explore the possibility of relaunching the Dublin branch of the friends in 2024 and again a call was made to anyone who may be residing in Dublin and who would like to get involved to come forward.
"Also at the meeting, Anthony Shelly announced that he would be stepping down from the roles of Secretary and PRO, but before he did, Anthony presented a very comprehensive report which gave a detailed account of all football activities both on and off the field in 2023.
"Taking over from Anthony as Secretary will be Karol Cunniffe who is a native of Mayo now living in Annacarty, while Stephen Gleeson will take on the PRO’s role. Treasurer JJ Crowley who has been an ever present on the Friends of Tiopperary Football also announced that he would be stepping down from the position but as there was no other proposal for the position, JJ agreed to continue in the role on an interm basis until a replacement was elected at the next meeting."
