Dermot Radford (Tipperary town), and Sean Buckley (Knockavilla), both members of the Tipperary based cycling race team Black House Racing, have recently secured 2nd and 3rd position on the Masters 50 podium of the Gran Fondo World Tour Championships in Gran Canaria. They were beaten only by Mario Cipollini, former Elite World Road Race champion and multiple Tour De France stage winner, arguably one of the worlds greatest sprinters of all time.

Dermot and Sean faced a 115km race for the first stage which included 2 timed climb sections, the first one 12.5km, and the second one 45km. The second stage saw the men complete 75km which included a 22km timed climb section. Both fought hard for every second they could gain against the field of almost 500 international athletes, resulting in a world tour masters podium place for both.
The Black House Racing club representative said all in the club are very proud of Dermot and Seans achievements on an international stage and they are very excited about their prospects for the year ahead.
