Dualla Ballytarsna Boherlahan Athletic Club to the fore at the weekend competitions

Two of the star athletes from Dualla Ballytarsna Boherlahan Athletic Club in action at the weekend.

Munster Athletics held the U12-U19 Indoor Championship over the weekend of February 24th and 25th and over the two days there were many great races. Dualla Ballytarsna Boherlahan Athletic Club had three juvenile athletes taking part in some of the events. First up were two U12 girls who both competed in the 600m race.

Jess O’Connor and Mary Beth Bergin were amongst almost 70 young ladies who completed the 600m distance, with times of 2:18.71 and 2:38.47 respectively. Jess also came 3rd in her heat. Both did fantastically well and were also enjoying their inaugural event in the DBB AC colours.

The third athlete from the club is no stranger to these big occasions and took on, not one, but two events over the weekend. Cian O’Donnell participated in the High Jump and also came 4th in his heat in the 60m U13 Boys Hurdles event in a fantastic time of 11.68, just missing out on qualifying for the final. This was also the fastest heat of this event.
Amazing efforts all round then from Dualla Ballytarsna Boherlahan Athletic Club athletes over the weekend, and supporters are looking forward to seeing them and many more members taking part in the County Indoor Competition in Nenagh on next Sunday 3rd March.
