Dedicated Water Services crews have monitored conditions overnight at the Poulavanogue Water Treatment Plant, supplying water to customers in the town of Clonmel, and full service was maintained despite the projected heavy rainfall.
According to Operations Lead for Uisce Éireann, Colin Cunningham said: “We are aware that heavy rainfall has the potential to impact on the raw water sources to Poulavanogue Treatment Plant and plans were in put place to restore supply as soon as possible in the event of a plant shut down.
“Dedicated water services engineers monitored production levels at the plant and water treatment was maintained at the normal level. We will continue to endeavour to notify customers and businesses where likely shut downs may arise as a result of weather events and supply conditions.”
