Tipperary butchers, Martin O’Dwyers from Cashel proudly clinched a 4-Star Award and John O’Dwyer Butchers from Killenaule achieving a 3-Star Award for their outstanding lamb displays at the annual Easter Lamb Display Challenge, hosted by the Irish Butchers’ Guild.
Judges were particularly impressed by the impeccable presentation, premium meat quality, and inventive approach. Keith Marshall from O’Dwyers, Cashel expressed his delight at the recognition, emphasising the award's acknowledgment of local butcher expertise and the excellence of locally sourced lamb.
Contenders from across Ireland vied for the coveted Champion's Crown, with Davidson’s Craft Butchers from Montenotte in Cork emerging victorious.
Their exceptional display, featuring a diverse range of creative products and expert presentation, distinguished them from the other talented participants.
The event showcased an impressive variety of lamb-based creations such as Lamb Stuffed Peppers with Mint, French Dressed Guard of Honour, Moroccan Lamb Pastry, Italian & Herb Meatballs, Lamb Onion Bhajis, Mint Lamb Twist, Tandoori Lamb Shoulder, Spinach & Feta Cheese Meatballs, Lamb Cushions, Lamb Koftas, Tuscan Style Belly of Lamb, Shepherd’s Pie Lamb Truffles to name a few - testament to the commitment to innovation prevalent among Guild members.
Entries were evaluated on product range and quality, visual appeal, creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship.
