Easter ceremonies in the Clonmel churches

St Mary's Church in Irishtown, Clonmel

Ss Peter and Paul’s and Church of the Resurrection

Good Friday: Morning Prayer: 9.30am Church of the Resurrection. Stations of the Cross will take place in the Church of the Resurrection at 12 noon. Stations of the Cross will take place in Ss Peter and Paul’s Church at 12 noon.

Solemn Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion in Ss Peter and Paul’s Church at 3pm.

Stations of the Cross in Ss Peter and Paul’s Church at 7.30pm. (This will be a dramatisation of the Stations by members of the Holy Family Mission).

Holy Saturday: Morning Prayer: 9.30am: Church of the Resurrection.

Confessions: After Morning Prayer in the Church of the Resurrection and from 12pm to 1pm in Ss Peter and Paul’s.

The Easter Vigil Liturgy commences in the grounds of Old St Mary’s Church at 7.30pm.

All the parishes in the town are coming together for the lighting of the Pascal Fire. The Parish of Ss Peter and Paul’s will then proceed to Ss Peter and Paul’s where the Easter Vigil continues at approximately 8pm. (Please bring along a candle and the usual windshield).

Easter Sunday Masses:
Church of the Resurrection: 10am and Ss Peter and Paul’s Church: 9.30am, 11am and 12.30pm.

Church of Ireland
(Clonmel Union of Parishes)

Easter Saturday: Ecumenical Prayers and lighting of the Paschal candle at 7.30pm at Old St Mary’s Churchyard Clonmel.

Easter Sunday: Central Service of Holy Communion at 11am at Old St Mary’s Church, Clonmel.
The service will be taken by Archdeacon John Murray.

St Mary’s Irishtown

Good Friday: 10am, Morning Prayer. 10.30am, Children’s Stations of the Cross. 12 noon, Stations of the Cross. 3pm, Solemn Liturgy of the Passion. 7pm, Prayers around the Cross.

Holy Saturday: 10am, Morning Prayer and Reconciliation Service. 2-5pm, Confessions.

7.30pm, Lighting and Blessing of the Paschal Fire at Old St Mary’s and Procession of Light to the various churches at 8pm (approximately), Solemn Easter Vigil and First Mass of Easter including Welcome of Paschal Candle to Parish, Exultet – Solemn Proclamation of Easter, Liturgy of Word, Epistle: Gospel, Blessing of Easter Water, Renewal of Baptismal Promises and Eucharist.

Easter Sunday: Masses at 10.30am and 12 noon.

St Oliver’s

Good Friday: 3pm, Liturgy of The Passion. 7.30pm, Stations of the Cross.

Holy Saturday: 7.30pm, Blessing of the Paschal Fire in the grounds of St Oliver’s Church, followed by the Easter Vigil Mass.

Easter Sunday: Masses at 9am; and at 12 noon with Banna Chluain Meala.

Mass will be celebrated each morning during Easter week at 10am and on Saturday at 11.30am.

The parishes of Clonmel wish all a Happy and Holy Easter.
