The tournament takes places across the county this Saturday.

The Michael Hogan Festival of Football takes place this coming Saturday the 18th of May.  It has been organised by the Tipperary Football Committee and supported by the Friends of Tipperary Football, the county juvenile committee and Tipperary coaching and games development.

The aim of the festival is to raise the profile of Gaelic Football within Tipperary. It highlights the importance of maximising the amount of opportunities for juvenile players to play the game. This football festival will offer an opportunity to play the game in a fun environment.

It involves U11 for clubs across Tipperary with an Under 13 tournament taking place later in the year. Chairperson of Tipperary Football Board, Fearghal McDonnell, said that the festival is hugely popular and an ongoing success: “This football festival is has grown steadily year on year.

“Those involved on the day in other years be it players, mentors and supporters all enjoyed the day. The popularity of it is great to see with players from all across Tipperary getting a chance to play the game in a fun environment.

“There are up to 100 teams involved again this year and we have 9 regional venues across Tipperary from Cahir in the south to Toomevara in the north so it is a really positive day for all the young players taking part in the day.”

The venues this Saturday are: Templemore; Toomevara; Drombane; Cahir; Ballyporeen; Templetuohy; Killenaule; Tipperary Town and Emly.
