No plans to add much needed bathroom facilities to Tipperary walkway

No plan has been announced to add toilet facilities to the Blueway in Kilsheelan.

The only public toilet in Carrick-on-Suir is around a kilometre away from the Blueway.

€18 million is being spent on an upgrade of the N24, which includes bus stops, safer crossing points and landscaping, but there are no plans to provide toilet facilities in the vicinity of the Blueway.

Age and Opportunity Ireland surveyed older people and found that a lack of toilet facilities prevents older people from using public recreational spaces.

Public consultation is an important part of the planning process.

We are fortunate to have highly qualified engineers and architects involved in Town Planning.

The invitation to comment is often accompanied by elaborate drawings of the finished design.

There is a reluctance to include the lived experience of the inhabitants in any review before construction begins.

A spokesperson for the area has received written communication about Carrick-on-Suir planning matters from the Civic Offices in Nenagh.
