Sharlene Mawdsley powered into Monday night’s European 400m final after impressive displays at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Sunday evening last. Mawdsley finished second in hers in 50.99 behind Irish teammate Rhasidat Adeleke who coasted to victory in her semi-final in 50.54.
After teaming up to great effect to claim mixed 4x400m gold for Ireland last week, Mawdsley and Adeleke will now face off in pursuit of individual glory in tonight's women’s 400m final.
Speaking to RTÉ after qualifying for the 400m final, Mawdsley couldn't hold back the smiles as her European Championships continues to go from strength to strength. See the full interview below.
