Tipperary Rose, Tara Brady
The 2024 Rose of Tralee International Festival is officially underway in the Kingdom and Tipperary Rose Tara Brady is still one of the frontrunners for glory as the time draws near for a winner.
She was in at second favourite however her odds have lengthened somewhat overnight for the title with the Cork Rose Shauna O'Sullivan now a firm favourite for the coveted title over the border.
O'Sullivan is 5/2 with Yorkshire Rose Clidna Bailey-Doyle closely following on her heels at 3/1 with Melbourne's Dervla Dolan still available at 4/1
Tara, the Rose for Tipperary, is available at a tempting 20/1 having drifted in the betting, but Galway representative Deirdre Jennings (13/2), Leitrim star Shauna Murtagh (10/1) and Derry's Darcy Taylor (10/1) are all shorter odds currently ahead of the showdown tonight.
All 32 Rose contestants, aged between 20 and 29, are competing for the title that has remained popular in the 21st century.
The 64th Festival was officially launched at the Island of Geese, where the 32 International Roses were welcomed to Tralee.
Welcoming the 2024 International Roses, Steve Cronly Director of Operations, Rose of Tralee International Festival said, “we are honoured and proud to host each and every one of these Roses, who between them have travelled some 180,000 kilometres to be here, proudly representing our Irish communities from around the world.”
The show can be watched this evening on RTE television with betting available right up until that time.
