Tipperary dietician amongst guest speakers at MTU Sports Seminar series

Munster Technological University, supported by MTU Lions Athletics Club and Sports Partnership, presents an exciting guest speaker seminar series on all things sport.
The MTU Sports Seminar Series will explore a range of themes related to sport, with guest speakers offering expert insights from their experiences in the high-performance sports sphere. Topics will range from nutrition and optimum training environments to injury prevention and mental health.
See a list of the events below:
October 16th: Sports Nutrition for Athletes 101 by Evan Lynch.
November 13th: Mental Health in Sport by Jessie Barr.
December 4th: Training & Injury Prevention Tips by Eoin Everard.
January 15th: Developing World Class Training Environments by Ed Coughlan.
February 12th: Implementing Real World Strength & Conditioning by Joe O'Connor.
March 12th: Planning Training and the Coach Athlete Relationship by Hayley Harrison.
Find out more about the speakers for the series below:
Evan Lynch - Evan is a dietitian based in Tipperary who specialises in sports nutrition and weight management.
Jessie Barr - Jessie is an athlete who has competed at the European Championships and the Olympic Games. She currently works as a performance psychologist at the Sport Ireland Institute and her research focuses on mental health in elite sports.
Eoin Everard - Eoin is a sub 4-minute miler, sub 14-minute 5K and sub 30-minute 10K Runner. He is a Chartered Physiotherapist with a PhD specialising in human movement.
Ed Coughlan - Ed is a skill acquisition specialist with a PhD from the Research Institute for Sport & Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU).
Joe O’Connor - Joe is an endurance coach and a lecturer in Exercise Physiology and Performance Nutrition at MTU.
Hayley Harrison - Hayley is a coach education officer at Sport Ireland Coaching, with responsibility for the Coach Developer and Trainer of Coach Developer national programmes along with the High Performance Coach Support programme across all sports.
