Lakeside Pitch and Putt held their annual Charlie O'Brien and Past Presidents Scratch Cup yesterday morning.
This is held in memory of the club's first President Charlie, and all the club's presidents Presidents who have passed away down through the years, all of whom gave great service to the club and the game of pitch and putt.
An excellently prepared course and a chilly morning greeted the players.
Four men's players were under par after the first 36, Noel Stapleton and Michael Fennell on 102, followed by Davy Morrissey and Sean McCormack on 104.
The ladies were next to finish and seemed to be handling the conditions a bit better with some great scoring.
Elaine Quinn played well early on, backed up when she signed her card for a six under par score of 102.
Finishing second to Elaine was President Bridget Shelley on 113.
Winner of the 36 Nett was Jo Jo Tobin with a 95 Nett.
Michael Fennell took the win in the men's competition, winning his third title in a row, ahead of Davy Morrissey.
The club expressed their thanks to the sponsor of the event, Centra Templemore, who have been a long time sponsor of this competition.
They also wished to congratulate all who participated and to all the prize winners.
