 LOUGHMORE CASTLEINEY

After the excitement of last weekend on the playing fields, the week just ended has been all about celebrations. After a terrific homecoming on Sunday night in the hall, the party moved to Castleiney on Monday and a fabulous day and night was enjoyed by the huge crowd that gathered throughout the day. Once again Denis O Reilly of Premier Meats provided top class food and Nolan’s kept everyone hydrated!!

Denis has been a great supporter of the club this year and his presence has added enormously to all our victory celebrations. Loughmore and Castleiney schools were also visited and the kids really enjoyed holding the most famous trophies in Tipperary GAA.

A big number of the players also brought the silverware to juvenile training on Saturday and the young stars all received medals for their efforts during the year. The Dan Breen and O Dwyer cups also visited the 1973 senior football Captain Tom Hayes at his home in Cashel and he proudly lifted the cup and congratulated all concerned in a lovely speech.

Masters Hurling All Ireland.

Huge congratulations to Tom King who lined out with the Tipp Masters over the past few weeks and won the All Ireland on Sat 19th with a victory over Wexford. David Kennedy was also on the panel for the final.

Fresh from his exploits with footballers, Cian Hennessy ran the Dublin City Marathon on Sunday. This is a fantastic achievement given the time commitment required for training alongside his hurling and football endeavours. Well done from everyone in the club Cian.
