Despite the concerns around the growing financial strain on the Tipperary County Board, the sponsorship, fundraising and commercial revenue generated for 2024 increased from the same period in 2023.

Ongoing partnerships with Fiserv, FBD, and Pinergy have generated an increased €109, 185 with increases in royalties, retail partnerships, and gear allowance showing an overall increase in this area.

There was also an increase in money made from the Tipperary Clubs Draw against the same period in 2023, with an increase of €86,360 from the previous year, now standing at €239,500. Also, fundraising from the Tipp GAA Sub-Unit Fundraising (ie, divisional boards contributions) also increased the fundraising income substantially.

Overall though, the commercials income is up to €800,629 and shows real progress in this area from the county board, increasing by 12%. Elsewhere, there were disappointing figures with regards to Cúl Camp and Easter Camp incomes with a decrease in profits from this venture of over €42,000 recorded against 2023.

The poor and inclement weather during those camps were the main reasons given for the fall in participation, with several camps across the county being cancelled due to the conditions in April, which has had a knock-on effect here.

“Our Cul Camp and Easter Camp profit dropped by over €57,000 year on year, due to bad weather causing easter camp cancellations, Croke Park deductions for posting Cul Camp gear to parents and the increased cost of wages for both camps due to the minimum wage increase and child/coach ratios,” noted Tipperary GAA Treasurer Eleanor Lahart.
