Olympic rowing bronze medallist Daire Lynch from Clonmel
Clonmel Olympic medallist Daire Lynch will be accorded one of Tipperary County Council’s highest honours – a civic reception – next month.
Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Declan Burgess tabled for approval at the Council’s monthly meeting last week the conferring of the civic reception for the rower at Brú Ború in Cashel at 7pm on Friday, June 6.
The hosting of the reception was proposed by Fianna Fáil Cllr Roger Kennedy and seconded by Independent Cllr Shane Lee.
The 26-year-old from Lime Court, Clonmel with teammate Philip Doyle won bronze medals in the Men’s Double Sculls event at the Paris Olympics last summer.
