Tipperary’s own Kerry Condon is continuing her meteoric rise in Hollywood, fresh off her role alongside Brad Pitt and Damson Idris in the much-anticipated F1 movie.
The Thurles native is clearly in high demand, as her next big project has already been announced — and it’s already generating Oscar buzz.
Kerry will star in the upcoming Netflix film 'Train Dreams', which quietly premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
She’ll share the screen with an impressive cast including Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones, and William H. Macy.
Train Dreams is based on Denis Johnson’s acclaimed novella and is described by Netflix as “the moving portrait of Robert Grainier, a logger and railroad worker who leads a life of unexpected depth and beauty in the rapidly changing America of the early 20th Century.”
The film explores themes of solitude, love, and resilience in the vast, untamed wilderness of rural America - a powerful story brought to life by director Clint Bentley, co-writer of the Oscar-nominated Sing Sing. Bentley teamed up once again with fellow Sing Sing writer Greg Kwedar to adapt the novella for the screen.
With a theatrical release slated for November and a Netflix debut scheduled for November 21st, 'Train Dreams' is shaping up to be a major awards contender.
