Junction 23 at Moneygall, on the M7 Motorway will close to facilitate works.

ALERT: Motorists in Tipperary advised of busy slip road closure on M7 motorway

Tipperary County Council have announced that they intend to close a slip road on the M7, to allow repairs to take place. 

The council will close Junction 23 Westbound Off-Slip and On-slip at Moneygall, on the M7 Motorway to facilitate pavement works at M7 J23 Roundabout with the R445 at the Entrance to Barack Obama Plaza.

The road will be closed for the duration listed below:

  • Nightly from 19:00hrs on Monday September 8 2025 to 06:00hrs on Saturday October 4 2025.
  • Excluding the week of the 14 – 20 September 2025 due to the ploughing championship.

The council have suggested motorists who wish to travel on this road during these times to take the following alternative routes:

  • Westbound Off-Slip Closure Advance Diversion: J22, N62, R445
  • Westbound Off-Slip Closure Secondary Diversion: J24, R445
  • Westbound On-Slip Closure (R445 Northbound Approach): M7 East, J22, M7 West
  • Westbound On-Slip Closure (R445 Southbound Approach): R445, J24, M7 West

Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Road Closures, Roads & Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary not later than 12 noon on Thursday 21 August 2025 or by e-mail to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie
