Tipperary GAA has issued a reminder to supporters after repeated incidents involving abuse of gate checkers at club championship matches this year.
The County Board confirmed that since the start of the 2025 club championships, gate staff have reported ongoing problems at venues, particularly involving patrons from a small number of West Division clubs.

A no-cash policy has been in place at championship gates for several years, with entry strictly via online ticketing. However, officials say this continues to cause difficulties for some supporters, leading in certain cases to confrontation with gate checkers.
“Tipperary GAA would like to remind all patrons that a no cash policy on gates has been in place for many years,” a county board statement read.
“Despite this, our gatecheckers have encountered many issues with patrons from a select number of clubs. Most issues have unfortunately escalated to abuse of our employees on gates.
"As Tipperary GAA has a duty of care to all its employees we have to take each reported issue seriously, we also have a responsibility to other patrons and each club venue that these issues do not escalate to a public order offence.”
