A Tipperary TD has revealed that the University Maternity Hospital in Limerick is set to strengthen its support for women experiencing miscarriage, promising more compassionate care in the near future.

The Cloughjordan TD highlighted the urgent need for a dedicated assessment unit and accessible treatment options beyond the hospital walls for women coping with miscarriage.

Soon, the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit will relocate to a newly prepared space within the hospital serving North Tipperary, offering patients greater privacy and a more nurturing atmosphere.

Deputy O’Meara also shared that further long-term upgrades are on the horizon, with plans to construct a purpose-built Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit tailored to these needs.
