In response to ongoing challenges within the organisation, the Tipperary Town Chamber of Commerce will convene an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Thursday, March 19th.

Joe Hayes, outgoing Chairman and director of Tipperary Chamber of Commerce Company Limited by Guarantee, stated that all Chamber members are welcome to attend. He noted that some members may not have received an email invitation due to an incomplete email list.

Three officers have yet to complete the records and accounts required for an AGM, creating tension among those involved. Mr Hayes clarified that the remaining officers disagree only on the timing of filing the paperwork, not on the content, and emphasised there is no hint of financial impropriety. Meanwhile, two committee members have shared five videos on the Tipperary Chamber of Commerce CLG Facebook page as of March 15th, outlining their concerns.

Mr Hayes stressed the need for the Chamber to tackle pressing challenges facing Tipperary Town businesspeople, who are striving to keep their doors open. All remaining committee members are expected at the Chamber offices on James Street at 7pm on March 19th. The last AGM was held in November 2020, and although an EGM was held in 2025, an AGM could not be arranged.
