Mo Chara Easter Walk Monday, April 2nd from Thurles Town Park
This year our annual Easter Dog Walk returns to Thurles on Easter Monday, April 2nd. The walk will start at Thurles Town Park at 2pm prompt and will consist of a scenic walk along the River Suir to the rear of Dunnes Stores, back around Liberty Square, along Emmett Street and then returning to the Town Park for some fun and games!
Along the walk, we will have a fun facts nature trail to keep everyone entertained. After the walk, we will hold an Easter themed fancy dress competition for children (and any pets that want to participate) with great prizes for the best Bunny Ears! All children who participate in the walk will also receive a free tasty Easter egg! We will have refreshments available for everyone after the walk too. Children under will four can participate free of charge with a charge of €10 per adult and €5 per child over four. We would like to point out that although we will have lots of helpful chaperones on the day, the walk is along the riverside so all children must be supervised by accompanying adults and all dogs must be kept on leads for safety reasons.
We will also hold a "Best Painted Egg" competition upon returning to the town park. To prepare your egg, simply hard boil – you can do this by placing the eggs into a saucepan and covering with water. Bring to the boil and then reduce to a simmer for at least 5 minutes before lifting the eggs out carefully with a spoon or tongs. Cool completely before decorating and then get crafty with dye, food colouring, paint, markers glitter etc.
We hope to see many of our usual supporters of our walk on the day along with some new faces (and of course their furry friends and our former rescue dogs) so please join us for some fun on the day and help us raise some much needed funds to help the animals in our care.

Don’t forget our charity shops are now open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm (Thurles: Knox Hall, and Cashel: Main Street). We thank you for your spectacular support of our fundraising sales in the past and hope that you will continue giving generously to the animals in our care through the purchase and donation of pre-loved goods! We would like to thank you all for your support in 2017 and look forward to continuing our work in improving animal welfare in 2018.
