Garville Gardens, Upperchurch, Opening Day in aid of Myelofibrosis research
Maire Wixted, who lives in Ballyboy, Upperchurch, is an avid gardener. Her husband Sean, who died 14 years ago in 2004, also loved gardening. In his memory, Maire has organised the first opening of their near two acre garden in support of Myelofibrosis research – the disease Sean suffered and died from. She says she knows he would love what she’s doing as they had planned to develop the gardens in the future and he would be very pleased at her progress, while at the same time she hears him say “take it easy on yourself.” Garville Garden is set on various levels, comprising of well established and recently planted trees, shrubs and perennials, and also includes a vegetable garden. The official opening day of Garville Gardens takes place on Sunday June 24th from 2pm – 6pm and tea/coffee will be served. Maire would dearly love to see her many friends to come visit on the day including of course those from Templemore Bridge Club of which she is a committee member, also the local Golf Club.
