A driver in Tipperary will face multiple summons for evading Gardai after making a break for it after initially being stopped in Urlingford yesterday evening.

Gardai from Kilkenny encountered the driver of a white Audi yesterday evening and went to stop it due to an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) activation.

The driver initially stopped their vehicle but took off as Gardai approached before driving off at great speed towards Thurles.

"Sometimes continuing to follow a car endangering other road users is fraught with risk and so our crew stood down. A trawl of CCTV followed and ultimately the suspect was located in North Tipperary.

"Full admissions were made and the driver will face at least 10 different summons for multiple counts of Dangerous Driving.
The moral of the story, if you're caught, you're caught, don't make it worse," the Gardai warned.
